Senna pods are used in the production of medicine, cosmetics and food supplements. Cassia senna is undoubtedly the most reputed indigenous medicinal plants of the Sudan. Pods are a rich source of pharmaceutically active anthraquinones, which is in high demand by international companies and are widely used as laxative.
